Oh Bertha

Last week we went camping! It was only for one night, but really with 3 kids one night is plenty. The kids enjoyed it so much! Well, except for Clark. He was really well behaved, but that child does not like the water. At all. We're talking, he pulled his legs up to his chest to keep them from getting in the water. The girls had a blast swimming in the river with Grandma, going on Grandpa's boat, making s'mores, spraying everyone with our mister fan, and playing with their little flashlights in the tent.

It was extremely hot for a part of the day, but the wonderful campsite finders (that would be Mom, Papi, and me) found a site with a tree so we had shade. The funny thing was that as the day went on the shade migrated, so we moved all of our chairs and the pack n play all around that tree.

We took Zeus also, and his behavior just confirmed what I've known all along. The dog, although sweet, tolerant, and beautiful, is dumb. Very dumb. He came on the boat with my dad and Patrick and when they were about 10 feet from the shore, they dumped him out of the boat. That dog almost drowned trying to get back in the boat. Patrick had to jump out and lead him to the shore. Zeus would use his front legs to splash the water and then try to catch the water that sprayed up. I'm telling you, d-u-m-b. We tied him up when we weren't in the water, and he managed to wrap around that chair and me. I guess who's dumber - the dog or the person he tied up? ha ha

Since it went so well, maybe next time we'll go two nights!
